Hi, I’m Sam.

Sam on Shuffle is where I write about the music I can’t stop playing, and some I can’t stand. Songs, albums, artists, music videos and live shows, from every genre. My library is on shuffle, so the reviews are too.

I’m not a music industry person. I don’t work for a label, a band, a promoter, a venue or a streaming service, and nobody pays me for a review. I buy my own concert tickets. When I say something is great, it’s because I think it is.

Every review is my opinion. Every fact on the site (release dates, birthdays, hometowns, quotes) is checked against reliable sources before it goes up. If you spot something wrong, tell me and I’ll fix it.

Rate things yourself. Every review has a readers’ score next to mine, so you can see whether you agree with me.

How I score

Scores are out of 10, and halves are allowed. A 5 is fine but forgettable, a 7 is one I’ll come back to, a 9 is something I tell everyone about, and a 10 is rare. Readers can score everything too, so you’ll always see two numbers.
